A hearty and healthy split pea soup made with turkey bacon and chicken ham, rich in protein and flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup split peas
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chicken ham, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and chop into pieces.
  2. In the bacon fat, sauté onions, carrots, and celery until softened.
  3. Add the split peas, chicken broth, thyme, garlic powder, and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, or until split peas are soft.
  5. Stir in the chopped turkey bacon and chicken ham, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
